Perhaps the migration code sets a specific collation that doesn't match the one
that the user set under hsqldb ?

Without a sample hsqldb with which to try a migration, I'm just clutching at
straws here.

@Tim : can you please provide a sammple hsqldb embedded ODB file that shows the
erroneous behaviour after migration so that we can test.
