Dear Xisco, 

I am closing this for now as I don't have sufficient time currently to debug
this. 

I have defaulted back to the version from the official Fedora repos that
properly shows the icons. 

I still believe it's user error on my side but not too big of a problem.

I would advise other Fedora users to stick to the official package if they are
affected as well.
