=========================================
Pressing F-1 when the help system has not been installed, and may do so if it
is installed initiates a loop of crashes and recoveries, even in Safe Mode.
F-1 help is not installed with the Ubuntu Software store nor is it available
from there.
Pressing F-1 in Writer, Calc and Draw displayes a message that help is not
installed.
Clicking [Read Help Online] opens a browser with the correct page, But it also
causes LibreOffice to crash.
Clicking [Cancel] causes LibreOffice to crash.
Recovering from the crash has involved still more crashes even in Safe Mode.
Please see attached PDF file for the details with illustrations.
It takes about five steps to make it back to an editable recovered document, if
Safe Mode is Not selected in any of the steps.
If Safe mode is selected in any step, then it takes about nine steps to get to
a recovered and editable document in a Safe Mode window.
I am in process of finding the proper way of installing either of the Help

opens but
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download
Offers no instructions for where it should be Extracted.
Options > LibreOffice > Paths does not list a path for "Help"
** I add needing to install help properly because I cannot test F-1 with a
correctly installed offline help to confirm whether that would or would not
cause a crash as well.
Why I have marked Severity as Critical.
1.The Ubuntu Store does not list the help file and the option to install it
from there.
2.The help file has to be downloaded from the site with out instructions as to
which file folder it should be placed, and “attached” to the menu.
3. I used Synaptic Package Manager to download and I thought install the help
file but found while documenting this that it did not successfully make it
available to the F-1 key, creating same loop of crashes.
4. Options > LibreOffice > Paths does not list a path for "Help" Leaving the
Question of
I judged this as a Critical bug for a great majority of users, especially new
users.
