My results aren't consistent: on some starts it takes 173000 KB, on others it
takes 201000 KB. While I imagine some overhead is reasonable for the extra
buffers, I'm not sure if close to double memory usage is warranted.

On the other hand, is this a dupe of bug 118536? I'd say they're close enough
to have one bug report on the whole OpenGL + empty document memory usage case.
