Bug ID: 128014
Summary: Cloning a merged cell formatting to a range then
unmerging the target range resets some cells in the
range to default format
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.3.2.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: mikekaganski at hotmail.com
1. In a new spreadsheet, select all (Ctrl+A) then change font name and size
(e.g., to Arial 14, direct formatting)
2. Select A1:A2, and merge them (Merge and Center Cells, e.g. on toolbar)
3. Keeping the selection, set cell background to e.g. red;
4. Keeping the selection, double-click (to make it repeated) Clone Formatting
(Paintbrush) tool
5. Click B1 -> B1 and B2 are now merged and red
6. Click-and-drag C1:C2 -> C1 and C2 are now merged and red
7. Unmerge B1:B2
8. Unmerge C1:C2
9. Compare formatting of B2 and C2.
B2 now has the formatting it had before step 5, i.e., the one applied at step 1
(Arial, 14).
C2 now has default formatting (the one before step 1).
So the results of application of the Clone tool are inconsistent and depend on
if it was applied "across the merge direction", clearing direct formatting of
hidden cells.
Tested with Version: 6.3.2.2 (x64)

CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; VCL: win;
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded
