Looking at attachment 154848 here, and attachment 154274 and attachment 154240
in dupe bug 127613 rather than cURL post used for checks on Windows, macOS
build looks to use a neon-WebDav connection to check for updates.

The crash on macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 occurs when attempting the OpenSSL cert
verification. Reasonable to assume security patches from Apple would affect
all.

So, is the issue then with our bundled neon package? We look to be several
builds behind.
