Seems the cell is defined as hyperlink.
<hyperlinks><hyperlink ref="B2" r:id="rId1" display="aaa at bbb.cc"/></hyperlinks>
using [Ctrl-M] to clear it as hyperlink, allows give the proper format to the
cell.
Maybe in excel takes preference the cell's format.
