Bug ID: 127288
Summary: Win10 64bit LibOff 6.3.0 hangs at Normal start up.
Safe mode launches fine and apps usable in "safe"
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.3.0.4 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Installation
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: liboff at crlong.uk
Description:
I have just installed Libre Office 6.3.0 on Win 10 64 bit. If I start any app
such as Writer or Calc the LibreOffice splash window displays but does not open
the app.Task Manger shows Libre Office is using a consistent 30% CPU but L.O.
does not proceed beyond the opening splash screen.
I have tried the following several times and it does not fix the problem.
Start in Safe Mode
Select Option Reset to factory settings and tick Reset entire user profile
Click Archive User Profile to have a backup copy of your User Profile (expand
Advanced to make visible)
Click button Restart in Normal Mode
After the restart, L.O. immediately hangs, consuming about 30% CPU.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice from Win10 start.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
L.O. splash screen opens and various messages at bottom of screen from
components loading. L.O. window opens but remains blank, a "not responding"
message at top line of window and L.O. is unresponsive and Task Manager shows
L.O. consuming 30% CPU.
Expected Results:
L.O. opens
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
L.O. functions fine in Safe mode.
I have tried to reset user profile as suggested on user forum but does not fix
problem.
I have tried switching off hardware acceleration in Safe mode and restarting
but this does not fix the problem.
