There are have been multiple templates designed for Impress in LibreOffice and
Open Office through the years.
Many of them have superior quality than what is currently available at Impress.

This Github user compiled and categorized a very impressive list of Impress
templates that could be included by default in the Impress install:
https://github.com/dohliam/libreoffice-impress-templates

I would like to propose that many of these templates (if not all) are included
by default in version 7.0.
