I do not reproduce with LO 6.4.4 build at home under Ubuntu / Gnome 18.04 64
bits.

some suggestions for trying to circumscribe the problem:
1/ What is your Linux distribution?
2/ As you use Dolphin, I guess your desktop environment is KDE; so could you
try to launch LO in a terminal with the following commands:
  a) use SAL_VCLPLUGIN=kde5 && libreoffice
  b) use SAL_VCLPLUGIN=gtk && libreoffice (if package libreoffice-gtk3 has been
installed)
  c) use SAL_VCLPLUGIN=gen && libreoffice
Do you have the same problem in each of these cases?
3/ please attach a screencopy of your document with with borders and shadows.
4/ did you try with other fonts? Kalam font is not available in Ubuntu 18.04
