This seems not to be an issue of the iOS app but rather an issue of the "Google
Drive" app or iOS itself.

Trying to create a new file with "Apple Pages" in a folder on my Google Drive
account gives an error:

"The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.DocumentManager error 1.)"

Uploading a file (using the "Google Drive" app) and then editing it with the
iOS app works.

There seems to be an issue creating files - but this seems to be a "Google
Drive" specific issue. Creating a file with Collabora Office, Apple Pages and
Microsoft Word fail.
