--- Comment #9 from Bart <bart-dn at tushmail.com> ---
I'll start with the questions you asked:

1) I installed Debian 10.3.0 on a separate partition. It's not a live version.
For the Debian graphical interface I choose LXDE
Windows 10 is installed on a separate partition.
2) My default web browser in Debian is Firefox 68.7.0 esr-1~deb10u1 (64-bit).
This is the version that came with the Debian installation.
3) I connect to the Internet in a normal way.
Firefox, Thunderbird, TeamViewer, etc., all work as expected.
   (It's good that you asked.)

You use Ubuntu, and if I'm correct it has a different graphical interface. This
made me curious. When installing Debian I had chosen to instal most of the
graphical interfaces and I decided to try all off them. The result:

Only with the LXDE graphical interface I get the error:
  "No such file or directory".

With none of the other graphical interfaces I get this error. (I added screen
copies of all the interfaces that I tried.)

With the LXDE graphical interface I don't get that error message all the time.
I ran Debian with the LXDE interface, and started LibreOffice writer.
- Then I select
    Help -> LibreOffice Help
and Firefox opens nicely and goes to the requested file.
That however, is a local file like: "file://usr/share/libreoffice/ ... etc."
- If I select any of the other options under
    Help -> etc.
a popup box appears with the message "No such file or directory".
I had expected Firefox to open and go to something like:
but there's an attempt to open local file:
    "/home/guest/https://hub.libreoffice.org/forum/?LOlocale=en-US"

(For more details, please refer to "LXDE-Help-GetHelpOnline.jpg")

This popup box opens really fast. If Firefox opens, there's always a short
delay because Firefox first needs to be started. When the popup box opens,
there's no delay at all, it comes instantly. In the taskbar in the bottom of
the screen there's no item for Firefox either. Is it possible that this popup
box is generated by LibreOffice?

I assume that you first want a confirmation that something's not working
correctly. Am I right that we need someone who's able to check this with Linux
Debian while using the LXDE interface?

Most of all, thank you for taking a look at this.

Best, Bart.

PS:

I added screen copies of the graphical interfaces that I tried. The most
important one is LXDE, so that's the first one. I added these screen copies for
those who aren't familiar with these interfaces. Feel free to ignore these
screen copies if you're already familiar with them.

Am I right that one of these graphical interfaces is what you get when running
Ubuntu?

The Plasma graphical interface does one thing different: instead of starting
Firefox, it starts Konqueror, but I don't find that a big difference.

I hope that this post isn't too long. Most of all I'm trying to add useful
information.
