On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today or with LO Debian package
6.4.3, I don't reproduce this.

I downloaded lignes_simple.zip, unzip it.
Then I copied the ttf in ~/.fonts and use "fc-cache -fv" to update fonts cache.
Finally when I opened Writer, the font was on the list.

On which Linux distrib are you? Did you update font cache?
