Bug ID: 135813
Summary: UI: The relation of setting page break/page style
inside paragraph dialog is source for confusion
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: telesto at surfxs.nl
Description:
UI: The relation of setting page break/page style inside paragraph dialog is
source for confusion
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment 164350
2. Place the cursor at top of page 2
3. Format -> Paragraph -> text flow -> Breaks is checked with page style etc
4. Place cursor on page 2 above the image
5. Format -> Paragraph -> text flow -> Breaks (is unchecked)
6. Check the checkbox, choose a page style..
Actual Results:
Breaks is unchecked. After checking text moves to next page with new page style
Expected Results:
>From my point of view should the whole Text flow break stuff not being inside
the paragraph dialog, but only accessed from the blue page break bar. This
being depended on the top paragraph is evilly confusing.
Especially related because of the page style setting attached to the paragraph.
Which I would attach to the page - so page break - not paragraph.
I really don't see a connect between page style setting & paragraph. If I want
to insert a page break I press CTRL+ENTER (not needing a Text flow "insert page
break' check box). I happily set the page style stuff in the special dialog
dedicated to 'blue page break bar'.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
