This is the white space on the left which cannot be cropped from the image

After the last Libre Office update when I insert a graphic into Writer all i
see in the frame is white space and "Image x".

When I open the Image Properties on the [Image] tab i find the image but with a
large white space appended to the left which cannot be cropped out.
When I go to print preview the page the image shows as expected
When I pull the same image into Draw there is no white space appended.
I have not changed Libre Office Options and made no changes to image
properties.
