If I disable the calculation of nRightMaxThickness, then the problem goes away,
and no unit tests really complain (except minor import variations).

nRightMaxThickness was introduced by
commit 53d67a4e9f26689dbcce07f045ef6222bfadc27e

Unfortunately, there is a LOT of formatting changes in that commit, so it is
hard to tell what is being attempted. Also, there was no unit test. I'm not
sure what bug system this refers to.  It does NOT match Apache OOo's 93253.
