            Bug ID: 136196
Summary: Unable to Delete Impress Table
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.0.0.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Impress
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: rafael.palma.lima at gmail.com

I am adding a table to Impress and I am unable to delete the whole table. I try
to select only the table, not its contents. But when I press the Delete key, it
deletes the contents instead of the whole table.

The only way I can delete the table is when I click the "Delete Columns" button
after selecting the whole table.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Insert a table into the presentation
2) Add some text to the table
3) Click outside the table to exit it
4) Now click the table border to select the whole table (note that it selects
the contents of the whole table; there is no way I can select the table object)
5) Press the Delete key
6) The contents will be deleted instead of the table

Next is a link to a Youtube video showing the bug (the video is not listed).

I think the problem here may have to do with the user being unable to select
the table object.

Maybe a way to resolve this issue is to allow the user to press the Escape key,
resulting in the selection of the table object instead of its contents.
Currently, if I press Escape, it exits the table leaving nothing selected.

I am using LibreOffice 7.0.1 on Ubuntu 20.04 / Gnome 3.36 and Nvidia graphics.
