Just to check, I've just tried installing the oibaf mesa drivers PPA, which
includes updated radeonsi-dri drivers, compiled daily, to see if drivers from a
different source than Ubuntu itself would solve this problem. It did not. I'm
still running into this same crash. And if anything, the flickering that
happens during the transition selection is much worse now.

I tried LO Impress on my wife's computer, which also runs the same distro but
runs a newer AMD APU, shows the exact same problem as well.
