Bug ID: 138728
Summary: Help for default template, excess prompt and
right-click
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.0.3.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: Nick_Levinson at yahoo.com
Description:
Problems of wording.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Help (F1) for LO Writer (if you're already in Writer this
will be the default in the menu).
2. Select the Index tab, if not preselected.
3. Go to default templates > defining/resetting (this gets the topic Changing
the Default Template).
4. Execute the steps on that page.
Actual Results:
LO's step 4 says, "You will then be prompted for a name". You will not be
prompted for a name at that point, given that you already entered a name at
LO's step 3.
LO's step 7 says, "Click on the template that you created, and click Set as
Default." I did not see that option, nor an icon that represented it via a
tooltip.
Expected Results:
Since I succeeded in creating a template with new defaults anyway, my
expectation is for the Help to conform to how. Therefore, I'd delete the
extraneous phrase from LO's step 4 and, for LO's step 7, I'd say "Context-click
on the template that you created, and select Set as Default."
Differences include that the click is for a context menu (usually the
right-click menu) and clarity for the next action stated.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Reproducibility is likely always.
I don't seem to have a User Profile reset or an OpenGL option.
