Bug ID: 129775
Summary: Chapter Headings all Disappear - CANNOT BE RECOVERED!
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.3.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: avoicelikethunder at gmail.com
Description:
Chapter headings completely disappear after deleting a page break close to any
particular chapter heading.
Steps to Reproduce:
Using the Undo/Redo feature cannot recover this error.
1. Create a manually typed table of contents.
2. Type chapter headings throughout your document and set them to Heading 2
(heading type may be irrelevant in triggering this bug).
3. Position your cursor to the left of each heading and hit CTRL + Enter to
create a Page Break.
4. Decide that you don't want a page break at chapter 50 and delete the page
break.
5. Realize that the words "Chapter 50" have suddenly disappeared from your
document, even though all you did was delete the Page Break above it.
6. Get annoyed that you have to retype "Chapter 50", recreate a bookmark at
that location, and re-link "Chapter 50" in your manually created Table of
Contents.
7. As you scroll up, realize that all other chapter headings of magically
disappeared.
8. Resist the urge to throw your laptop across the room, or to enter a bug
report filled with profanity, as you realize that using the Undo/Redo feature
does absolutely nothing. You now have to manually retype all chapter headings
over again, set them to your desired heading, bookmark them again, and re-link
them in your manually created Table of Contents. Welcome to %#$@ing Hell,
please enjoy your stay.
Actual Results:
%#$@ it, I'm going to start drinking again.
Expected Results:
I should just end it after this $#!#.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
