Do you mean that later SDK versions produce blurry display? I'm asking because
I got this impression from your message, and from overall discussion, but
generally your message proceeds to mainly discuss non-applicativity of 10.12,
so I guessed I'd better ask.

This looks incorrect: the changes I mentioned above show that the check order
was from latest to oldest...
