I can confirm that font substitution using the table + manual resizing can be
used to correct the title. I see that there is a long-standing proposal to
enhance this at https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103342

However the X-axis labels (in Century Schoolbook, a font I do have installed)
still doesn't display correctly. See Example_graphic_comparison1.png
