Bug ID: 135105
Summary: In Linux (Mint) two LibreOffice entries are created
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.4.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: f.thaler at posteo.net
Description:
(all of this happens in Linux Mint)
When installing LibreOffice, not only Writer, Calc, Draw, etc. are created, but
TWO general shortcuts that do different things. (see attatchment)
And both of them often act in weird ways.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install LibreOffice on Linux Mint via the software manager (Flatpack, the
normal version might work the same way.)
2. Press your Windows/Super key to get to the search.
3. Search for LibreOffice
Actual Results:
Clicking on the "LibreOffice (Flatpack)"-icon sometimes loads LibreOffice and
that screen where you can choose whether you want a Writer, Calc, Draw, etc.
document or use templates. And sometimes it shows the loading picture with an
advancing progress-bar, that then just disappears, without starting the
software.
Clicking on "LibreOffice" never triggers the loading-picture. Sometimes it does
nothing. Sometimes a similar version of the screen that "LibreOffice
(Flatpack)" uses gets opened... it doesn't function properly though. What do I
mean?
1. Writer, Calc, Draw, etc are greyed out and can't be started from this
screen.
2. Templates don't work properly.
Expected Results:
There should probably only be one of those LibreOffice-icons and it should work
properly.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
