Hi, sorry about the delay!

Yes, I can confirm that the bug is fixed in 6.4. (Well, it's a "bug" for my
workflow at least. Though in the ticket linked above, it looks like this "bug"
was a "feature" for that other person :/)

i.e. When I click "Export Directly as PDF", the default save path is the same
directory as the source document.
