1. Open Calc, input some numbers
2. Create a chart, Point and lines
3. In edit mode, select the line
4. Change line colour from the Sidebar Properties tab

No effect even after exiting edit mode. Re-entering edit mode we see the colour
we selected in the Sidebar, but still not in the chart.

This appears to always have behaved like this. Tested both on Win and Linux.
