gallery chessboard background

The issue is, that if you draw an thin gallery shape it's very difficult to
see, cause of the background white/gray chessboard. 

Also in general the chessboard don't improve the visibility.

I would suggest do remove the chessboard. Cause in general you draw in LibO
shapes and black shapes with no background want be uncommon.
