I opened your test document and I have no problem adjusting the row heights

With the group text box, are you referring to that e.g., the p and g in
Superking is cut off due to lack of space in the box? If you post and image of
what you see it would be  

Which version are you on? Would be good if you pasted the info in LibreOffice
