            Bug ID: 132768
Summary: Check For Updates says up to date when it's not
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 6.3.5.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: dhorton668 at gmail.com

Description:
Accessing Help > Check for updates in Writer will report that software is up to
date when it is actually not. I currently have 6.3.5.2 installed (from the
stable 6.3 branch.) Help > Check For Updates says I'm up to date. Help >
About says I'm on 6.3.5.2. The latest version at this time in the 6.3 branch
is 6.3.6. Obviously, I'm not up to date as reported.

This seems to happen whenever there are four digits in the version number. If
there are only three digits, say I'm on 6.3.4 and 6.3.5 comes out, the Check
For Updates seems to work fine and will tell me I need to update. If, however,
there is a fourth digit in the version, like 6.3.5.2, Check For Updates reports
bad information.

It is almost as if the method of checking is to look at the version number with
the very last digit being the bug fix digit and everything before that being
the branch. So in the case of being on 6.3.4 it determines 6.3 is the branch
and looks for a bug fix revision higher than 4. This seems to work. But, when
the version is 6.3.5.2, it gets confused, looking at 6.3.5 as the branch and 2
as the bug fix revision. Since there is no 6.3.5.3 version, it assumes
(incorrectly) that the software is up to date.

I did not find any bugzilla reports for this in my search, so I assume it is
still a problem. It is minor, but I wanted to bring it to your attention.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Help > Check for Updates
2. Help > About LibreOffice
3. Compare to latest download on libreoffice.org

Actual Results:
Check for updates reports that LibreOffice is up to date.

Expected Results:
Check for updates should have reported there is a newer version available.

Reproducible: Always
