This is not a bug. You are not changing the object's properties; instead, you
modify the properties of the style applied to this object (using the "Edit
Style" context menu). This same style also applies to other objects; and
naturally, its modifications affect all objects that use it - that's the
essence of the styles, where you may make consistent modifications to look and
feel of all related objects without the need to do it one-by-one.

Use "Area" context menu to edit direct properties related to fill and shadow of
this specific object if you need to modify it independently; or create a
dedicated style that you would apply to such objects that need to differ by
having the shadow - that would later allow you to edit that style, and have all
such objects modified uniformly throughout your document.
