--- Comment #20 from b. <newbie-02 at gmx.de> ---
me too, debian / kali hidpi (4k) screen, fresh 7.0 alpha, screen scaling 200%,

win ver. on similar machine with 225% font scaling unaffected,

i suspect a small gap between dropdown button and menu representation,

very annoying,

additional workarounds:

- press <tab> while pointer still on the button, that somehow changes the focus
and keeps the menu open,

- a fast move down with the mouse (touchpad in my case) mostly 'catches' the
menu and keeps it open,

- start typing something, the initial focus is in the search field of the menu,
menu will be kept open,

'minor' as sufficient workarounds available,

tested with:
Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha1
Build ID: 6a03b2a54143a9bc0c6d4c7f1...
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: de-DE (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
