Bug ID: 133209
Summary: Toggle Formatting Marks Command Does Not Toggle Hidden
Text
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.4.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: flywire0 at gmail.com
Description:
Toggle formatting marks command does not toggle hidden text like the equivalent
MS-Word command.
This is a quick and convenient way to display hidden notes in a document which
are not displayed in the final document. The feature is often used in document
templates.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select some text within a document
2. Format, Character, Font Effects: Hidden
3. Click Toggle Formatting Marks Button to observe it has no effect
Actual Results:
Toggle Formatting Marks Command has no effect on display of hidden text.
Expected Results:
In MS-Word the Toggle Formatting Marks Command displays hidden text as
expected.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
OpenGL enabled: Yes
Additional Info:
MS-Word is not available to provide a sample file. A sample file should be
prepared in MS-Word to compare the actual codes used for hidden text to check
if the issue is the codes or the command.
IIRC MS-Word also has settings for viewing and printing hidden text and that
functionality should be checked too.
