Bug ID: 138012
Summary: menu item Page (in Format) should be active even when
there is an inserted read-only document in it in FOCUS
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: jepe at cspv.hu
versions: 7.03 / 6.x
although it is logical that a read only document inserted into a document
shouldn't be edited, it comes up as illogical when you want to set
the "mother document's" page... and you can't do it, cannot even access the
menu item "Page" (in Format)....
example:
you have inserted a section with a linked read-only document... say, it is 10
pages...
and it starts at the first line...
now, if you want to change the page format, you need to insert a line before
the section with the linked document... need to insert a new first line, so to
speak...
this is unnecessary pain... cause the PAGE is set by the "mother document" in
every circumstance
suggestion: the Page menu item should be active.. even when a linked document
is in focus...
------------------------------
NOTE:
actually it works if you go Styles -> pages styles...
and it should work the same when with the normal route: Format / page... or
Format / Page styles (as in 7.03)
simply, it just shouldn't be greyed out in the Format menu...
suggestion:
this could be fixed in former versions, too...
