Bug ID: 138043
Summary: Writer EPUB export does support grouped objects
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.0.3.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: richard at filmlight.ltd.uk
Description:
See test document (to be attached). A diagram made from grouped graphics
elements displays correctly in Writer, and exports to PDF, but does not export
to EPUB. The text appears but other stuff is lost.
It would also be good to group text with images, so I can put images in a
document with labels and arrows, but I am not covering that in this bug.
I have installed and used the writer2xhtml plugin and have used it to generate
the EPUB.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Check the writer2xhtml plugin is installed
2.Open GroupedGraphics scene
3.Export to EPUB using the toolbar button (not Save to EPUB on File menu)
4.View EPUB
Actual Results:
The scene has two copies of the diagram: the first as a group of graphic
elements, and the second as an included PDF as rendered out by Writer.
The text from the group of graphic elements can be seen but the rest of the
group has been lost. The PDF version looks right (this may appear as the cover
image)
Expected Results:
I would expect groups of objects to keep their grouped layout. If this can only
be done by rendering out the group as an image, then this is okay.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
