I believe there are more than two issues. I can "Live" format a text string to
reflect many different fonts, sizes and colours which all reproduce faithfully
in the cell. They also reproduce when the cell is "drag" copied and with Ctrl+C
> Ctrl+V.
Merge & Centre also reproduces the variations if they are contained in the
first cell.
I think it's almost an exercise in "mind reading" to ascertain the users' hopes
& dreams
