            Bug ID: 138215
Summary: LibreOffice struggles with dark themes.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.0.3.1 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: UI
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: bas_gommans at hotmail.com

Description:
LibreOffice still struggles with dark themes, often it puts black letters on a
grey/black background. In my particular case, I use Arch with dwm and I set the
themes with lxappearance and qt5ct/qvantum. I use the materia dark theme with
the Elementary icons. The first screen which you get after you open it after an
install shows black letters on a dark grey background, making it difficult to
read it. When you open a new document in Writer there is a lack of contrast
which makes it much more difficult to read the menu-items. It would be nice if
the contrast would be higher.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select the Materia dark theme and Elementary icons
2.Open LibreOffice
3.

Actual Results:
Nothing to add here, it should be clear.

Expected Results:
Irrelevant for this bug-report.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Respect the system theme settings, adapt to it if necessary if you do have good
reasons not to respect the system theme settings (if you detect that a theme
with a dark blackground is used then use white/yellow...letters, any color that
contrasts well) or build in nice dark themes.
