It looks to me like an alignment problem of the glyphs inside theyre boxes.
However please contact someone with deep knowledge of opensymbol uses.
It is used for LO spetial features, and making changes could for example alter
ordered lists if it depends on it (I don't really know which features are). So
make sure it is safe.

However I would recommend to work in font replacement, and use a third party
font, with complete glyphs collection and correctly aligned. Opensymbol is a
marshy ground.
