--- Comment #55 from Riban <riban at gmx.net> ---
The way the LO installation/update process works is far from being optimal.

Because updating LO becomes a complex and time consuming system maintenance
task every time. No matter if it's a small bugfix update (6.4.4 to 6.4.5 for
example) or a major update (6.4 to 7.1 for example).

Here's why:
- Users have to re-pin all their favourite documents to the JumpLists every
time an (update)installation is done.
- Users have to manually backup and restore their JumpList configuration files.
- Users have to re-pin the LO application shortcuts to the StartMenu and/or
TaskBar after every installation, because they are automatically deleted.
- Unwanted fonts (over 100) are installed and need to be uninstalled manually
by the user, because there's no option to exclude fonts during installation
(see the other filed bugs/requests regarding this issue).
- Automatically installed fonts overwrite newer versions of fonts already
installed on the system with older versions. Users have to manually install
their newer font versions every time (see the other filed bugs/requests
regarding this issue.

I think those most basic issues should be fixed first before the devs start
adding new features that sometimes are very marginal.

I am a very enthusiastic LO user and love this program very much. But some
things are really nagging and don't seem to be resolved anytime soon, which can
be frustrating.
