In current master this works with a new document:

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: cb084f475db33a2cfc62bc9c8de37b8c3c87b3c7
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

Also the example file has color (white) background set in the page properties.
Unsetting that to "None" background restores the desired effect.
