            Bug ID: 138571
Summary: LibreOffice freezes (often when running inactive in
                    the background)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: hannes.riebenbauer at gmx.at

Hi,

I am finally reporting this problem that I have been experiencing for many
years on many different devices and Windows versions (since at least Windows
7).

The reason why I did not report this before is that I am not able to provide
exact steps to reproduce this problem.

The usual symptom is that when LO keeps running in the background and the
Window is reactivated after sitting in the Task bar for several hours, the LO
Window will be "Not responding". I most often notice this behavior when I am
closing all open applications at the end of a workday before shutting down the
system.

Rarely this will also happen after just a few minutes. This is not related to
an open file or complex data, this may happen with only a new/unsaved document
opened.

At this point I can see in the Task Manager that soffice.bin uses a CPU core at
100%. Usually the Window becomes responsive again after waiting for about 1-5
minutes.

Another thing I noticed is that sometimes during those freezes the whole
application content is shrunk to the left/top ~25% of the window.

And I can tell for sure that this is not due to lack of machine resources.

I know, so far this is barely something that can be used to start
troubleshooting, but I can provide stack traces or whatever else will be
required. Please let me know how I can assist and what data needs to be
collected when the application is in this state again.
