            Bug ID: 137172
Summary: Opening attachment continuously opens in infinite loop
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.0.1.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: thangalin at gmail.com

Replicate

0. Start on XFCE Workspace #2
1. Start LibreOffice Calc
2. Open a spreadsheet
3. Switch to XFCE Workspace #1
4. Start Thunderbird mail reader
5. Open a mail message containing a .docx attachment
6. Click the attachment
7. When prompted, open the attachment with LibreOffice

Expected

The attachment opens in LibreOffice Writer.

Actual

The splash screen appears, disappears, then repeats. Switching XFCE Workspaces
does not interrupt the cyclical and indefinite splash screen flashing.

Workaround

Close the spreadsheet opened from step #2. At this point, LibreOffice may
prompt the user to recover a saved file. This is weird because the save should
have been successful. Continue by recovering. At this point, both LibreOffice
Calc and Writer re-open the spreadsheet and docx file, which was the behaviour
one would have expected from the start.

Environment

Arch Linux, running XFCE with 4 separate workspaces

$ uname -a
Linux hostname 5.7.12-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri, 31 Jul 2020 17:38:22 +0000
x86_64 GNU/Linux
