--- Comment #7 from Timur <gtimur at gmail.com> ---
This bug is not well defined, to know exactly the solution. We have more
issues:
1. edit directly the information of the author of the document - which was
initial request but it's a subset of multiple authors (somehow opened bug
137298).
2. add and edit more authors - proposal was to add "Author" field in
"Properties > General", but better is "Custom Properties" where multiple fields
can be added and edited - or - "Description" in format "Author1;Author2",
anyway to show first the "User Data > First/Last name/Initials" by default.
3. read and edit DOC/DOCX with multiple authors - which would be another bug
that depends on having UI to add or edit multiple fields (now multiple authors
are read as Created and new author is added in LO via Modified property, cannot
be edited).
4. export multiple authors to PDF as "Author1;Author2" - should be possible
because default value for author, even if not edited, should be User Data.
This bug is about 2.
MSO has both ways: it can add multiple authors via adding Author fields, which
would be "File-Properties-Custom Properties" in LO - or - directly typing
"Author1;Author2" in Author: fields in Summary in Properties (which is hidden
in “Advanced Properties”), which would be "File-Properties-Description" in LO
I think it's better not to open new bug until we see what will happen here.
But let's also hear UX.
