I Guess you're using the stable version.

Downloaded it and opened it LO 7.0 on fedora 32. Also using liberation serif.
The cache image of the equation was clearly wrong, but corrected itself after
open/close the equation.

I did see some bugs like this, when I did change the opensymbol font for STIX
two math (changing the LO code). It had the arrow over dots circle for vector
arrow with nothing to be upon ( a composed surrogated error since the second
char is missing ). However opensymbol is the font used for all math symbols and
can not be changed, so that's why it's strange.

I know it can't be an error related withe settings, because the font name (
opensymbol ) is directly written inside the code. That makes it even more
strange because if it was a general bug, I believe we would got a massive error
report.

Marking it as NEW, but don't really know where the bug could be. I'm sorry I
can-t help.
