Sorry. I thought it was obvious how to reproduce this problem. Uninstall
gpg4win. Ah, context, I suppose...
To re-create this issue:
1. Uninstall gpg4win
2. Double-click on a password-protected Calc .ods file (my file was created and
password-protected months ago, and has been opened and modified several times
this very week)
3. See the Calc splash screen
4. See the actual Calc window flash very briefly - not even one second - and
then silently disappear
5. See the splash screen silently disappear
6. Re-install gpg4win
7. Double-click the same file
8. See the splash screen
9. See the Calc window
10. Wait for the Password Entry dialog
11. Enter the password
12. Enjoy viewing the file
Things to note:
A. Calc quit silently, with absolutely no notice.
B. When I Repair/Installed LO, and then when I completely uninstalled and
re-installed it, not only did it NOT fix the problem, but there was nothing to
tell me that there was no PGP tool/library/whatever on my system, and it didn't
offer to install one.
C. I actually DID ask about this problem on ask.libreoffice.org just prior to
entering this on bugzilla. I was told that I needed to report it on bugzilla.
I agree with those who answered. How could they actually have helped?
The reason I reported this problem is I wanted to spare any users the wasted
time and effort in trying to find a solution to this problem in the future.
And because I was angry that I had to go through all I went through just to see
what was in my file. I'm just lucky that I noticed that pgp4win got
uninstalled from my system, and that I have at least some skills in diagnosing
problems. Other uses may not be so lucky.
In my opinion, Calc should not just silently crash without explanation. Even
after completely uninstalling and re-installing LO. I call this a bug.
