Example of pasted text appearing as image.

The "Copy Properties" pop-up dialog box is from the "Ditto" windows clipboard
manager application, showing data in the Windows clipboard is available in 3
format, CT_TEXT, CF_UNICODETEXT, and Rich Text Format.

I can reproduce this issue if "Ditto" is not active.
