I am (still) running Linux Mint Mate 18.3. Please find the version information
for my linux distribution included in one of the earlier posts.

Yes, definitely. I just sent another report of a crash that happened in safe
mode.

Good to know. This means that I will have to run LO7.1 with the generic user
interface.
