Writer file showing a footnotes/endnotes issue
Open attached writer file. Compare the appearance of the NUMBERED footnotes and
endnotes versus those footnotes/endnotes with a TYPOGRAPHIC MARK at the
beginning. In the latter cases, a space is missing at the beginning of the
text.
CONCLUSION: The Begin and End settings ("Tools > Footnotes and Endnotes") don't
work when you apply the note via "Insert > Footnote and Endnote > Footnote or
Endnote > Numbering > Character".
