And here I start about design guidelines again ;-). Is sidebar an replacement
for the toolbar of an aid next to the toolbar/Tabbed bar etc.

I don't like crowded sidebar either.. but that depends mostly on the design
principles. They Draw sidebar is to crowded already. Still gets folded etc
which reduces accessibility

However no clue if you can customize the sidebar? Would make it possible to
reduce it tot the basics ("core functionality"). And let people modify/tweak it
themselves. Or addition step.. extensions with 'presets' for user groups.
