Not able to reproduce in
Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5e53fe7b53017068d183e923f6a77f0afaf31d67
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL
See attached.
Be sure you didn't select Enable Shadow (as opposed to text shadow) because
Enable Shadow (an object shadow, not a text shadow) defaults to light gray.
