Confirm that this accented-character issue exists in all 7.x versions of
LibreOffice - my systems run under GNU/Linux - and it is very pronounced in
"heavier" documents, namely when the program has to do additional rendering
tasks, like handling multi-column tables with text.

The same issue has also been reported here:

The importance of this bug should be changed to MAJOR.
