You're probably right, but my point is that if we find a workaround for each
missing thing in LibreOffice, it will never improve. For example, I could (of
course) use the + key on my keyboard to produce a + sign. But the button to
insert that sign exists anyways. I think that this is the whole point of
LibreOffice Math: it offers a GUI to type symbols which can be way more tricky
to type than a +, because they require some key combinations which are hard to
remember also because they change from OS to OS. A GUI interface on the other
hand allows users with any keyboard or OS to type math equations.
